Fitzsimmons Racing has capped off another successful season at Bendigo, collecting four awards at the Bendigo Racing Awards, including a second consecutive Premier Trainer title.

Tim Fitzsimmons was named Bendigo Premier Trainer for the 2025/26 season, securing the award for the second year running and continuing the stable’s strong progress since establishing its Victorian base in Bendigo.

Black Storm was the star of the night, collecting two awards – Bendigo Horse of the Year and Bendigo Middle Distance Horse of the Year. His season was highlighted by victories in the Albury Mile and Tatura Cup, establishing him as one of the stable’s leading performers.

Promising youngster Yuuki was also recognised, taking home the Bendigo Three-Year-Old of the Year award.

For Fitzsimmons, the recognition is particularly meaningful given the stable’s commitment to Bendigo.

“We love being based in Bendigo. It’s a fantastic racing community and we’ve felt very welcome since setting up here,” Fitzsimmons said.

“To win Bendigo Trainer of the Year for the second year in a row is a real honour. It’s a great reward for our staff, owners and everyone who puts so much into the stable every day.

“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved, but we still feel like we’re building. We’ve got a really exciting bunch of young horses entering the stable and there’s plenty to look forward to heading into the Spring.”

Fitzsimmons also paid tribute to the Bendigo Jockey Club and its track team, acknowledging the work that goes into providing the stable with quality training facilities throughout the year.

“The Bendigo Jockey Club has been terrific to us and the track team deserves a lot of credit. They do a great job maintaining the tracks and facilities day in, day out, and that gives us a fantastic environment to prepare our horses.”

The four awards provide another important milestone for Fitzsimmons Racing, but with the stable continuing to expand and a new generation of horses coming through, the focus is already firmly on what lies ahead in the 2026 Spring Carnival and beyond.
