Tim Fitzsimmons boasts a wealth of experience that spreads across both his native Victoria, Australia and Singapore. The Australian started out in the industry when he was 18, and gained experience with several leading yards in Victoria, namely those of Bart Cummings, Lloyd Williams, Greg Eurell and Jim Conlan. He accepted fellow Australian Cliff Brown’s invitation to join his yard and relocated to Kranji in 2007. Fitzsimmons climbed through the ranks quickly to become Brown’s assistant-trainer in March 2014. The pair enjoyed many successes together, including Debt Collector’s numerous heroics and Gilt Complex’s win in the Group 1 Singapore Gold Cup in 2017, among others. In April 2019, Fitzsimmons was granted stabling facilities at Kranji. Fitzsimmons scored his first Group race success after GOLDEN MONKEY took out the Group 3 Singapore Three-Year-Old Sprint (1200m) in June 2022. Eight days later, he doubled the dose with RELENTLESS in the Group 2 Stewards' Cup (1600m), while GOLDEN MONKEY added to his tally of big-race success by winning the Group 2 Singapore Three-Year-Old Classic (1400m) the following month. In 2022, Tim claimed the title of Singapore’s Champion Trainer, ending the season with 65 wins from 390 runners, striking at 16.67%.
