Fitzsimmons Racing Acquires Promising Yearlings at 2025 Inglis Classic Sale
Tuesday, 11 Feb 2025

Fitzsimmons Racing is excited to announce the acquisition of two exceptional yearlings at the 2025 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, held at Riverside Stables from February 9 to 11. These strategic purchases underscore our commitment to developing top-tier racing talent and enhancing our stable's future prospects.
The first acquisition is Lot 234, a bay filly by Bivouac out of the mare Forte. This filly boasts a strong pedigree, with Bivouac being a multiple Group 1 winner and Forte contributing proven bloodlines. Her conformation and athleticism caught our attention, and we believe she has significant potential on the track.
The second purchase is Lot 496, a chestnut colt by Bivouac out of One Funny Honey (USA). Notably, this colt is a half-brother to Group 1 winner Vega One, sharing the same dam, One Funny Honey. Vega One secured a notable victory in the Group 1 Kingsford-Smith Cup, highlighting the strength of this lineage. This connection enhances our confidence in the colt's potential, given the family's proven success at the highest levels of competition.
"We are thrilled with these acquisitions," said Tim Fitzsimmons, head trainer and director of Fitzsimmons Racing. "Both yearlings exhibit the qualities we look for in future champions—strong pedigrees, excellent conformation, and a presence that stands out. The filly's athleticism is impressive, and the colt's relation to Vega One adds an extra layer of excitement. We are eager to integrate them into our training program and watch their development."
The Inglis Classic Yearling Sale is renowned for offering high-quality thoroughbreds, and this year's event was no exception. "The sale provided a diverse selection of well-bred yearlings," Fitzsimmons noted. "We are pleased to have secured these two promising individuals and look forward to their progression within our stable."
As Fitzsimmons Racing continues to build its presence in Bendigo, these new acquisitions represent our dedication to sourcing and developing elite racing talent. We are excited about the future and the potential these yearlings bring to our team.
